Academics and body-language experts tend to focus mainly on identifying deception. The final analysis will show you there is a lot more to forensic language analysis than identifying deception.
The primary purpose of a well-prepared analysis is to assist investigators or analysts to identify avenues of enquiry, or to develop pertinent questions to be asked of a witness or suspect.
Narrative
“On Tuesday, November 10th, I got up at 8:30. I took a shower and got Sally dressed and ready for school. I left the house at about 9:20. I arrived and parked in the Metro parking lot north of XXXX Community College at about 9:40. I spent a few minutes in my car going over my class notes and reading my textbook. I walked up the path from the parking lot to campus. At that time there was no one else on the path. I went to my professors office to take a make-up test.
I finished the test at 11:15 and then took a couple minutes to get my books together and left.
When I was walking back down the path to the parking lot I saw a man standing at the side of the trail. He looked to be in his early twenties, was wearing faded jeans and jeans jacket, black cowboy boots and I didn’t really see what his shirt looked like. I think it was some kind of a light colored tee-shirt. He had light blonde, short, wavy hair, and pale skin. His face was kind of thin and angular and his eyes were either blue, green, or gray but not brown. He was about 6’2” and average to slightly muscular build, about 180 to 200 lbs. He looked like he was just waiting for someone so I didn’t look at him too closely or feel any concern.
As I walked past he grabbed me from behind, put a knife to the left side of my throat, and told me not to scream. He forced me onto one of the side trails. He then shoved my pants down and forced me to the ground on my stomach. All this time he kept the knife to my throat. I didn’t see the knife but it felt to be a 6” blade and I think it was serrated.
He forced me to have sexual intercourse which lasted about three minutes. He ran off but I didn’t see which direction he went because I was still on my stomach. I stayed on the ground for a couple minutes then got up brushed myself off and continued to walk to the car.
I drove straight home and when I got there got straight into the bath. My boyfriend came in and asked what was wrong. I told him the events that had happened. He told me I needed to call the police but I didn’t feel ready to talk to anyone yet. I stayed in bed for a couple of hours then had my boyfriend call the police,
I am not sure what time that was. Officer Jenkins came over and took a report and gave me phone numbers for hotlines and the hospital. I then went to the hospital and had various tests done and talked to a social worker. I went and got something to eat and then went home. Then I watched a couple movies on tv and went to sleep at about 2:30 in the morning.”
